What else can I say,I love Yes and I love Blu-Ray,so this was a no brainer type of purchase for me,this Blu Ray Disc contains a complete Yes concert Live at The Montreux Jazz Festival in 2003,and the lineup(Jon Anderson,Steve Howe,Alan White,Chris Squire and Rick Wakeman)are in top from here!!! They play a lot of the classic material:And You and I,Heart of the Sunrise,Don't Kill The Whale,I've Seen All Good People,Long Distance Runaround/The Fish, and of course Roundabout, and a many more, over 2 hours baby!!! If you have a Blu Ray player and like Yes than this is a great purchase, but don't worry it's also available on standard DVD too!!! I actually got my Blu-Ray Disc brand new for less than the DVD!!! Two thumbs up!!! A+
I love my 50" plasma but I love Yes more. What a thrill to see them up close in this excellent rendering of this 2003 concert. I would have prefered the editors to have remained more on one artist throughout a musical section, and I would have liked to see Squire, Wakeman and White get equal time with Anderson and Howe, but that's because each member plays such an integral part of the whole. I hope we get more Yes, Genesis, Asia, ELP, Moody Blues, Pink Floyd and other progressive rock offerings on Blu-ray soon.
It's great to see these guys play the old songs. I missed seeing Yes in 1977 and sure this will never replace that but it's great to see musicians of this caliber in Blu-ray. I agree with the comments on video and sound issues but this is not U23D. Given the newness of this technology in 2003 and the fact that it's a generic recording from the folks at Montreux - it's not bad.
I'm not a Yes nut - just enjoy seeing music from when I formed my music foundation (e.g. Yes, ELP, Led Zeppelin, etc). This was a great era! However, I don't live in the past - bands like Wilco, Gomez and My Morning Jacket keep the fires burning.
Buy the CD - have some fun!
