Tak 3: The Great Juju Challenge is a cute, kid-friendly game. Basically, you play as Tak and Lok (you are able to switch between characters) in a race. It's a general adventure game with mini-games thrown in for extra kicks. You walk, climb, and swim through different levels with different themes. As you play, you will come across several mini-games (such as racing and swimming) that puts you against several other two-player teams. Some of the dialogue is quite amusing (maybe even for some adults). You also have the option to just play the mini-games rather than going through the entire game. The graphics are just ok. I've seen better graphics on most other DS games so there's definitely room for improvement.
Would I recommend this game? Yes and no. If you either have a child that likes Tak and has played other Tak games (some of the other Tak games are better than this one) or if you have a child that likes adventure games, I'd say yes. This is not a game that I play too often (maybe once a week). If the graphics were better and if there were more mini-games, I'd give this game 4 stars instead.
This game certainly doesn't deserve a 5 star average. It is an OK platformer but it is nothing special, having never played any other Tak games i can say that i was surprised i had heard great things about the series and was very dissapointed. This game has nice graphics but it is not enough to save it. The two character aspect was fun and i enjoyed the mini-games which brought the score up. this is an altogether waste of money. it was not worth the $30 and i wish i had spent my money on one of the many good games out for DS.
