Samurai Warriors for PlayStation 2

Samurai Warriors is a game about a ancient war over land and control. You play as a variety of generals and commanders. My favorte a ninja named Hanzo. You can also use alot of weapons and earn some cool moves. What I'm trying to get at is this game is a KICK-BUTT war game. If you know what I mean.

Pros: Many Weapons, Lots of Missions, A Variety of Characters To Pick From, Cool Movies, 2 Endings, Good Graphics, Best of All is You Can Ride Horses and good Multiplayer.

Con: Horable Voices (Some girls sound like men), Have to share the special bar, Stupid AI and Not that many places to go to.

Compared to the original dynasty warriors series, this game feels more like playing mario bros to me. Furthermore, the occasional "explore a castle" scenarios are a big turn off as it's merely a mouse running the maze game.

Other than the gameplay itself, the design of the characters are downright fatuous.. Takeda Shingen fights his enemies with a fan while his katana hangs loosely on his belt. Similarly, the figure of Uesugi Kenshin looks like a complete moron with no honor. The list just goes on and on for the other characters... Furthermore, the historical battles during the "warring states" are filled with false information. This is no simulation game but merely an action game mixed with game concepts of other platform games.

Koei's new games such as nobunaga's ambition 11 and Romance of the three kingdoms X are a major disappointment as well. As they start to incorporate 3D graphics into these games, the aged old incredients that they used on previous episodes in the series no longer work well: controlling units in the 3d battlefields is more frustrating than tweaking the compiler flags due to crappy path-finding algorithms, AI opponents are as smart as roaches in our kitchen and various important elements in strategy games are completely missing (such as the ability to move troops from one state to the other) thus making the games unenjoyable.

What used to make Koei's game series unique from each other are missing so I'm not planning to buy any Koei's games in the future if they do not change this.
