I agree with the few other 1 star reviews. I'm not sure what book most of these reviewers were reading. I can state - unequivocally - that this is the worst book I have ever read. Really. At first, I thought it would get better. Then I realized that it was getting worse. I almost stopped reading, but I just had to see it through to the end to see how bad it got. I normally do not post negative reviews, but I have to make this exception. Sabrina Jeffries normally writes light, entertaining fair - but this is dreadful. Really, really dreadful. I've got two words for you. "Bad Boy." Yes, she actually refers to a part of the male anatomy as a "bad boy." Need I say more? Skip it. And maybe the next Sabrina Jeffries, just to show her that you mean it.

I am shocked that this book has been so highly rated here.

The character development was almost non-existent, the romance happened far too quickly, as did the sex scenes, the relationship between the hero and the heroine seemed forced and I so hate confrontations involving multiple players. And the hero's "deep, dark secret" was just to strange.

Jeffries has really been hit and miss for me. This one, however, was such a miss that this writer has earned a place on my "do not purchase" list.

This is my first SJ read and I was a little apprehensive about the historical setting as I'm not a big fan of historical story lines. I was captured by the story and got connected with the characters very quickly.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book and finished it in two days. I also thought the seduction scenes were expertly played out...very nice!
