The Crow: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
Date undefinedI recently became a HUGE "The Crow" fan. I immediately bought this and the soundtrack score when I had the chance. I really do like most of the music on this CD. As people have said before, it brings you back to the movie. The crew of this movie did a nice job with song selection. Why can't they make music like this anymore?

Date undefinedThe is truly an extraordinary soundtrack that merges some of the greatest alternative artists in this era with an incredible film.
This is not the typical formula of attempting to "link" music with a movie at an attempt for cross-over appeal in pop culture; it is a stand-alone volume, with each cut delivering a brilliance of power. The Stone Temple Pilots was awarded an MTV Movie Award for Big Empty, though a trio of covers - Dead Souls (Joy Division) by NIN, Ghost Rider (Suicide) by the Rollins Band, The Badge (Poison Idea) by Pantera - show a special awareness of an oftentimes under-appreciated past.
The music is permitted room to move and it reaches great heights, while providing a unique trail to the recording of soundtracks.

This was the first CD I ever purchased and revisiting it reminds me of what a treat some of this soundtrack was. The first half especially shines, offering mostly unreleased or rare tracks of good quality. Once Rollins band kicks off though the steady stream of metal recedes into more generic alternative and industrial territory, though the album ends on a mellow female vibe. The disc is well-rounded and has enough good songs by reputable, diverse alternative groups to seek out, but a weaker second side prevents this soundtrack from becoming truly great.
