OK, the goal of this review is to help you determine whether this is the right purchase for you. Everyone has different taste and the Beatles have some really widely varying styles of songs, so I'm not going to make any judgments on these songs. I'll let you do that.

The Beatles have a ton of great songs and even having 27 on one CD is going to leave out someone's favorite and include songs that some can't stand. If you can live without the songs that aren't on this CD (such as anything from the famous White Album) and you want to minimize your investment, then this is the CD for you. If you like what's on here, but feel it's still missing a lot, then you should get the Red and Blue albums INSTEAD of this CD. If you get the Red and Blue albums, you'll be getting EVERYTHING that's on Beatles 1 plus a whole lot more, although you're still only getting maybe 4 songs from the White Album, so check out the White Album and see if there's anything on there that you can't live without. If so, then adding the White Album will pretty much complete your "greatest hits" collection, although you'll still be missing a couple titles that are dear to some like "Lovely Rita" and "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band." If you're not getting virtually everything you want from the Red, White, and Blue albums, then you pretty much want everything and should just get all of the individual albums and forget the Red, White, and Blue albums altogether. You could look at the Anthology (1, 2, and 3) collections, but then you're starting to get into alternate/unplugged versions of these songs, which might not be what you're looking for. Definitely read the reviews for the Anthology series before buying them or you might be surprised by what you get.

In summary, if you're looking for a solid, mainstream collection and aren't sure what you want, then here are your choices:
1. Beatles 1 (27 songs, cheapest and briefest)
2. Red+Blue (54 songs, including all of the Beatles 1 songs)
3. White (30 songs, including about 4 that are also on Blue)

If you're a huge fan of the White Album and just want to add in the best of the rest, then you might consider getting just the White Album plus Beatles 1 as there is no overlap between the two.

Hope this helps!

Perfect road trip album that makes 80 minutes feel like only a half hour past. The "1" disk compilation of Beatles hits. This compilation is very enjoyable since each song is better than the one before it. Yes there are some great classic Beatles songs missing but for a one disk overview this it is pretty darn good.

I think I own almost every song that the Beatles recorded and do to the remastering I tend to gravitate toward this collection and "Love".

If your a fan of the Beatles like I am, then this collection of 27 songs is for you. If your in your teens, 20's to 30's, heard about them but havent listened to them, check out this CD. I think you'll hear an array of music no other group will ever match.
