Dearly Devoted Dexter
Date undefinedThe first book is genius, and the first season of Dexter on Showtime is based heavily on it.
The second book is a major departure from the second season of Dexter. The two are barely comparable. So, don't buy this book if you want it to be close to that.
However, that said, the book really is very good. The author plays with characters in ways that many authors are afraid to. Death, being maimed, and serious issues plague the characters that you may have come to love in the first book.

Date undefinedI am a huge Dexter fan. If you are discovering Dexter because of the TV show, you will be pleasantly surprised as the books do differ in the plot than the TV show!
Dexter is the serial killer you root for, as he tracks down really bad guys and disposes of them in a way the police cannot!
