I really like this CD. I hadn't heard some of the songs before I bought it but they have really grown on me. The slow "No Rush" is a great stress reducer. I sometimes play just that one song to relax after a very stressful day. It quiets my mind. Many of the songs on this CD are upbeat though so don't misunderstand.
Your Man and Would you go with me are so very romantic.
Angel's fall sometimes is very thought provoking.
Baby's gone home to mama and Way down south are fun and upbeat.
Loretta Lynn's Lincoln is also upbeat but zany too. I just smile listening to it.
Gravity was the one song I didn't like at first, but I have grown to like it the more I listen to the words. It is not a song that sticks in your head though.
I grew up with country music (think of the music in the 70's) and developed a dislike of it because of that. But I recently came back to country and find it ironic that I am drawn so much to Josh Turner who is known for being "old school".
The only professional concert I have been to in 30 years was Josh's concert at a county fair this last summer. Sadly, no one would go with me so I had to go alone. It was worth the price and worth going alone! He is a great entertainer!
Josh Turner has an incredible voice, a great sense of humor, charisma and is very traditional in his country music and all of this shows in his recordings! I first heard Josh way back when I HATED country, but I switched the radio to a different station from my norm for a change of pace... and I heard "Your Man" and I loved it so much... I kept listening to the radio over and over to listen to Josh and I fell in love with countrym but especially Josh. I've seen him in concert and he is amazing. "Your Man" is definitely one of my favorites of his but I love all of them on this CD. Buy it - you won't be sorry!!
