I saw Ashton on the CMT Awards show and immediately wanted to hear more. Unfortunately she is getting very little airplay. Call your local stations folks! I listened to samples and watched lots of video on YouTube. I asked for the album for Christmas and can't stop playing it, very loudly most times. "C'mon now, turn it up" as Ashton sings. This is country music at its roots. This woman has lived, not like the other youngsters out there. She has a husband and a baby she has to leave behind to tour. Her subjects are so much more mature than teen angst. In addition to Takin' Off This Pain and Sounds So Good, we need to hear I Ain't Dead Yet, Old Memory, The Pickin' Shed, Regular Joe, Angel Wings and Whiskey Won the Battle ON THE RADIO! I love her voice and songs!

This CD is absolutely amazing! This is genuinely Country music. Her voice is one-of-a-kind and she stuns, in my opinion, on Old Memory. Other standout tracks are Takin' Off This Pain, Sounds So Good and Lost In You. Make no mistake, this is no pop-Country album! She has a very soulful and powerful voice coupled with absolutely amazing tracks.

there isn't a bad song on this album! her voice is so unique and genuine. it is quite refreshing to hear something other than cookie cutter, breathy teenagers (ie: taylor swift, carrie underwood, miranda lambert etc.). at first i thought her vocalizations were over the top, but then i watched an interview with her. that is just how she talks; she is just really in touch with her inner southerner!

ashton shepherd is the singer gretchen wilson wishes she was! lol

if you like genuine, drinkin', fightin', lovin', leavin, tear in your beer country, BUY THIS ALBUM! if you're looking for vegan, pop inspired, faux country, buy something else.

peace out.
